Created by Christian Renonciat in 2011, the Pégase d’Hermès design (Hermès Pegasus) is one of the great contemporary designs of the House of Hermès. First issued as a 90 cm scarf under the title Le Pégase d’Hermès, it then gave rise to a special edition in giant format: Le Pégase d’Hermès au bloc.

This “au bloc” edition, which exists only as a giant scarf, takes up the original Pegasus design and amplifies it to its full scale. The motif is enriched with pen sketches, as if you were stepping into the artist's studio notebook, as close as possible to the creative gesture.

A bearer of imagination, poetry and creative power, the Pégase d’Hermès comes to life here on silk in a masterly composition, at once graphic, airy and deeply evocative.

The secrets of an object

Christian Renonciat's Pégase d'Hermès is "a mechanical construction, a tribute to Leonardo da Vinci and to the dream of rebuilding the world". This winged horse is framed by a long handwritten text: "Like the leaping waters of the torrent, like the fertile imagination that overflows, its fiery course cannot be stopped." Small wonder, then, that its meeting with Hermès came so naturally.
